Hardcover Journals with Lazerburst Laser Engraving

Most custom journals on the market use a printed cover — your logo ink-printed onto a cover substrate. It works. You can read the logo. But a printed cover and a laser-engraved cover are not the same thing to hold. The engraved version has a tactile presence: you can feel where the laser removed the surface layer, and the silver reveal on a dark cover reads as crafted rather than printed. That distinction matters for gifts that are supposed to communicate value.

What "Lazerburst" Means

Lazerburst is the name for our laser engraving process applied to hardcover journals. The laser removes the dark cover layer to reveal a polished silver finish underneath — a clean, high-contrast mark that looks like an engraved plate rather than a printed label. The finish is permanent: it will not scratch off, fade, or peel regardless of how the journal is used.

The engraving is done in-house in Las Vegas on our production laser. The silver reveal color is consistent across orders — it is not a variable finish. The engraved area is slightly recessed, which you can feel when you run a finger across the cover. This tactile quality is part of what makes engraved journals feel more premium than printed alternatives.

Three Styles and Their Use Cases

The Hardcover Journal (4.75"×8") is the standard corporate gift format. It has a substantial feel — not too large, not too thin — and the clean engrave area on the front cover is proportioned well for a centered logo or monogram. This is the version in the Welcome Aboard Kit, the Recognition Set, and the Holiday Gift Set.

The Large Spiral Notebook (7.75"×10.75") is better for note-taking-heavy use cases: training programs, planning meetings, project work where people need room to write. The spiral binding means it opens flat on a table. This format is less common as a gift and more common as a functional workplace item — a training cohort journal, a project planning notebook for a team.

The Small Spiral Notebook (5"×8.25") is the budget-friendly option for higher-volume distributions. A team of 50 getting a branded notebook for a workshop is a different budget consideration than a set of 10 executive gift journals. The Small Spiral covers the use case where the engraved notebook is a functional giveaway rather than a premium gift.

Blue or Black — the Only Color Choice

Journals come in blue or black covers. Both engrave to the same silver finish. Black is the more popular choice for corporate gifting — cleaner, more neutral, works with any company color scheme. Blue reads as more distinctive and works particularly well for creative and tech companies that want something other than the standard black executive journal.

Lined or Blank Pages

Both options are available. Lined is the standard choice for most corporate gifts — people default to lined when they do not know which they prefer. Blank is better for illustrators, designers, and anyone who sketches or diagrams during meetings rather than taking notes. If you are ordering for a mixed group and do not know individual preferences, lined is the safer default.

Pricing and Bulk Tiers

There is no minimum order. Bulk pricing applies automatically: 3% off at 5+, 10% off at 20+, 20% off at 50+, and 28% off at 250+. For most corporate gifting programs — 25 to 100 journals — the 10% to 20% tier is realistic. For training programs that distribute journals to a full cohort twice a year, the 250+ tier is achievable.

What This Product Is Not

Hardcover journals with Lazerburst engraving are engraving only — there is no UV printing option for the cover. If you need a full-color logo or a multi-color design on the cover, a different product is the right choice. The engraved silver reveal is a single-color process: it works beautifully for logos, text, monograms, and clean line art, but it cannot reproduce color photographs or gradient artwork.
