Swim Team Fundraising: Drinkware for the Driest Sport
Here is the irony of swim team fundraising: the athletes who spend 4 hours a day in water are also the ones who go through 3–4 water bottles a week at meets and practice. A branded tumbler fundraiser practically sells itself to swim families.
The Fundraising Math
20-swimmer club team, 40 parents at year-end. Sell 60 tumblers at $28 each. 60 units at the 25–49 unit tier (8% off $23.99 = $22.07/unit): $1,324.20. Revenue: $1,680. Net: $355.80. That covers pool rental for two practice days, or entry fees for three swimmers at a travel meet.
Pricing uses TLC's published volume tiers. Margin improves as order count grows — share the campaign link broadly to hit a better tier.
How It Works
- 1
Set up your store
Share your artwork, team colors, and product choices with TLC. We build a simple product page for your campaign.
- 2
Set your price and goal
You decide the retail price supporters pay. The gap between that price and TLC's cost is your margin. Set a unit goal and campaign close date.
- 3
Share the link
Send your campaign link to parents, alumni, and your community. TLC handles all payments at checkout.
- 4
We produce and ship
When the campaign closes, TLC produces every order. Standard production is 5–7 business days. We ship direct to each supporter's address.
- 5
You collect the margin
After the last order ships, TLC calculates your total margin and pays it out. No inventory, no cash handling, no leftover product.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we include the swimmer's event specialty or best time on the tumbler?
Yes. Custom text per variant is supported. "200 Free — [Name]" or "Best time 1:52.3" makes an excellent keepsake, especially at end-of-season when families are already in a celebratory mood. Personalized tumblers often command a higher retail price, improving your margin.
Do swim families usually buy multiple tumblers?
More than most. Swimmers use hydration products constantly, parents want one for the meet deck, and siblings get pulled in too. Average order size for swim team campaigns tends to run 1.5–2 tumblers per family. Budget for it when forecasting your order count.
Can we fundraise for both the swim team and water polo in one campaign?
Yes. Run a shared "Aquatics" campaign with a combined logo or offer two design options — one for each sport — under the same storefront. The combined parent base gives you a larger audience, which usually means hitting a better pricing tier and keeping more per unit.
How do we handle orders from families on the traveling club team vs the school team?
Both can order from the same campaign link. TLC ships to each supporter's home address regardless of team or geography. If you want to split the margin between two programs, we can discuss multi-campaign tracking — contact us to set that up.
