A referral is the most valuable thing another attorney can give you, and the thank-you usually arrives as a card or nothing at all. Meanwhile the firm-branded pens ordered in bulk sit in a supply closet because nobody wants to hand a client a pen. The gap is a gift that carries the firm name without looking like swag — something a client or referring attorney actually keeps on a desk.

What makes client gifts for law firms different

Legal gifting has two audiences and they need different things. Referring attorneys get something that reminds them where the referral went — the firm mark, understated, on an object that lives in an office. Clients closing a matter get something personal enough to mark the moment without looking like it came from a promotional catalog. Both fail the same way: a logo slapped large across a cheap item reads as advertising, and advertising is not a thank-you. Engraving solves this because it is monochrome and physical rather than printed and loud — the mark is present without shouting. It also matters that the firm can order eight of something without a minimum, because a practice group thanks people one at a time, not in cohorts of 250.

Pricing example

Referral thank-yous for a quarter — 20 engraved tumblers, each with the firm mark and the recipient attorney's name. At the 20–24 unit tier (4.5% off) that is $19.57 each, $391.40 for the quarter. Sent individually to twenty different offices rather than boxed to reception. Standard production is 5–7 business days.

Frequently asked questions

Can we put the firm logo on without it looking like promotional swag?

Engraving is the answer to that specific problem. A laser-engraved mark is monochrome and cut into the surface rather than printed on top, so it reads as a maker's mark rather than an advertisement. If you want the firm name present but quiet, engrave it small on the reverse and put the recipient's name on the front — the object then belongs to the recipient, and the firm is a detail they notice later.

Do we have to order in bulk? We thank referral sources one at a time.

No. Drinkware, journals and luggage tags have no minimum, so a single engraved gift is a normal order. Bulk tiers start at 5 units and improve from there, but they are a discount, not a requirement. Acrylic keychains are the one exception, with a 10-piece minimum.

Can each gift carry a different attorney or client name?

Yes. Every unit in an order can have its own engraving — you submit the names and any per-recipient text, and there is no extra charge for unique lines. You pay per unit at whatever tier the total order quantity reaches.

How far ahead do we need to order for a closing or a case resolution?

Standard production is 5–7 business days from order placement, plus 2–5 business days transit — most orders arrive within 8–12 business days total. Rush production (2–3 business days) is available for a 20% fee when a closing date moves up. Matter timelines slip in both directions, so order against the date you have rather than the one you hope for.

Is there a proof before anything is engraved?

You approve the preview in the design tool before checkout — what you see on the canvas is what goes to the laser. Nothing is produced from an unapproved layout.
