Ion plating (also called physical vapor deposition) deposits a metallic color layer directly onto the stainless steel surface — producing the Bright Gold, Rose Gold, Ghost Black, and Prism Rainbow finishes. The color is bonded to the steel, not a coating applied on top. Laser engraving removes the color layer to reveal the raw stainless beneath, creating a high-contrast permanent mark.
